Part of the “Interactive Theatre as a tool for Social Change" co-funded by the European Union within the framework of the regional programme Med Culture, ASHTAR Theatre is glad to present "The Gaza Monologues".
On the 22 of May "The New Gaza Monologues" performed at ASHTAR Theatre in Ramallah at and on the 16th of the same month in The National Center for Culture and Art.
The play with its new production, presents the monologues which were written in 2010, along with some new monologues that were written in 2014; it focuses on the monologue as a text, and on physical pictures.
These monologues were written by ASHTAR Theatre students in #Gaza in 2010, after the 2008-2009 Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip; the new monologues were written by the same students after the 2014, Israeli aggression.
The monologues were sent out to the world in October 2010, to tell the stories of these students, since then, the siege and aggression have continued and nothing changed, this production comes in continuation of the efforts to deliver this message.
